Pray before you scroll

At prayer time, the apps you choose wait. You pray for a minute with Rafi, a little guardian angel, and they open again.

Rafi, a little angel with a bell, over a hill village and its chapel at noon

At noon, the Angelus bell once stopped a whole village for a minute of prayer. Rafi rings it on your phone, so prayer comes before the scroll.

How it works

  1. Pick your apps

Choose which apps wait, in Apple’s own app picker, and set your prayer times.

  2. At prayer time, they wait

Those apps pause and Rafi’s screen appears.

  3. You pray

The full prayer, a decade of the Rosary, or today’s saint story.

  4. They open

When you finish, your apps open until the next prayer time.

The “Pray now” button sends a notification that opens the prayer. That’s why Angelus asks for Screen Time access and notifications, and tells you why.

Four moments a day

Turn each one on or off, and change the times. The prayers are the full standard texts, never paraphrased, in English or Spanish.

Offer it up

Name an intention, like “Mom’s surgery.” Every time you resist opening an app, and every prayer, is offered for it, and a candle is lit in the village.

Angelus counts the sacrifices you offer, not your screen time.

Rafi’s village

Each prayer adds a house, a tree, a lamp or a well, and each sacrifice lights a candle in the church window. The village follows the Church year, with purple banners in Lent and lilies at Easter.

Miss a day and nothing withers: the village just waits. There are no streaks to lose.

The Rosary

At any prayer time you can pray a decade in place of the usual prayer, or the full Rosary with today’s mysteries, on a bead counter with gentle vibration. Every decade adds a rose to your village.

The Church year

  • Lent

A 40-day phone fast, and Sundays don’t count. Each day sets a stone in the bell tower, which rings on Easter.

  • Mass

On Sundays your apps rest during Mass (10:30 to noon unless you change it), and phone calls always come through.

  • Easter

The Regina Caeli replaces the Angelus from Easter to Pentecost.
