Privacy Policy
Angelus (Spanish: Ángelus)
Effective date: 28 October 2026
Angelus is a Catholic prayer app for iPhone: at prayer time, the apps you choose wait until you pray. It is run by Francisco Barros (“we”). This policy explains, in plain words, what the app keeps and where it goes.
The short version: there is no account, no ads and no tracking. Your Screen Time data and everything you write in the app stay on your iPhone. We don’t collect personal information about you.
What stays on your iPhone
The app saves these on your iPhone so it can work. They are never sent to us or anyone else:
- Your language (Spanish or English).
- Your prayer times and choices, such as which prayer times are on, Mass mode and Lent mode.
- The apps you chose to wait. You pick them in Apple’s own app picker. Apple gives Angelus private tokens for them, so Angelus never receives a list of the apps on your phone, and your Screen Time data stays on your iPhone.
- Your intentions, the names or words you type, like “Mom’s surgery”.
- Your counts and your village: the prayers you prayed, the sacrifices you offered and the Rosary decades, which build Rafi’s village.
- Your plan status: whether your free trial or yearly plan is active.
If your iPhone backs up its apps to iCloud, this information may be part of that backup, which Apple handles under its own policy.
Screen Time
Angelus uses Apple’s Screen Time (Family Controls) to make the apps you choose wait at prayer time. This works on your iPhone. We don’t receive your Screen Time data, how long you use your apps, or which apps you use. You can take away Angelus’s Screen Time access at any time in your iPhone’s Settings.
No account, no ads, no tracking
- You never sign up or log in.
- There are no ads.
- There is no tracking or advertising software in the app, and we don’t follow you across other apps or websites.
- We don’t run a server that receives your personal information.
Purchases
The Angelus subscription is sold only through the App Store. Apple handles your payment; we never see your card or your name. To manage your subscription we use RevenueCat, which receives purchase details from Apple (such as which plan you bought, when, and an anonymous ID created when the app is installed) so the app knows your plan is active and can restore it on a new iPhone. RevenueCat also shows us anonymous totals, such as how many trials started or plans renewed. None of this is linked to you.
- Apple: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- RevenueCat: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/
You cancel or change your subscription in your iPhone’s Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
Notifications
The “Pray now” notification and the reminder 2 days before your free trial ends are scheduled on your iPhone. They are not sent from a server. You can turn them off in your iPhone’s Settings.
Ratings and crash reports
After a few prayers the app may show Apple’s rating prompt once. Apple runs that prompt. If you allow your iPhone to share diagnostics with app developers, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. You control this in your iPhone’s settings.
This website
This website uses no cookies and no third-party scripts.
Children
Angelus is made for adults. It isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Deleting your information
- Deleting the app removes everything it saved on your iPhone, including your intentions and your village.
- Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your iPhone’s Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Purchase records kept by Apple and RevenueCat follow their policies; write to us if you’d like help with them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll post the new version here with a new effective date.
